It is actually amazingly effective way not only to find, but also to share and to promote important and good quality information. It is based to the same Collective Curation (http://youtu.be/eW775HIlVMg) model that I wrote on my Test Essay. This my ScoopIT "magazine" of Cloud Education. http://www.scoop.it/t/cloud-education-by-jan-lindblom

This article discusses how this tool could also be used in education environment.
http://www.teachthought.com/technology/why-scoopit-is-becoming-an-indispensable-learning-tool/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3807180559561438726.post-67912706744099882092013-11-06T02:29:22.900+00:002013-11-06T02:29:22.900+00:00I would like to continue my previous comment by sh...I would like to continue my previous comment by sharing this quite from founder of Lavabit email device company, who was recently forced to close his company after declining to hand over to US government his global customers' emails.

"This experience has taught me one very important lesson: without congressional action or a strong judicial precedent, I would _strongly_ recommend against anyone trusting their private data to a company with physical ties to the United States.

Sincerely,
Ladar Levison
Owner and Operator, Lavabit LLC
http://lavabit.com"Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3807180559561438726.post-40667086554076600542013-11-05T21:40:44.410+00:002013-11-05T21:40:44.410+00:00We just had an interesting lecture on INF6400 by J...We just had an interesting lecture on INF6400 by Jo where Open Access was discussed. Netvibes can gather information about their users in much higher efficiency than Google does, and Goole is already quite good at information gathering. With his app, it seems that Natvibes can access all your information sources and services that you are using through this service. And, as they are US company, they are forced to hand over all of their information to NSA. I definetly would prefer similar European applications over this one.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3807180559561438726.post-7932043353730618972013-10-29T11:38:40.436+00:002013-10-29T11:38:40.436+00:00Sheila, you might find this also interesting, back...Sheila, you might find this also interesting, backgrounds to the initiative. http://www.arcticstartup.com/2013/04/22/finnish-sites-blacking-out-tomorrow-in-support-of-copyright-petitionAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3807180559561438726.post-34153660746296956072013-10-25T19:44:11.134+01:002013-10-25T19:44:11.134+01:00So, what sort of deal University of Sheffield has ...So, what sort of deal University of Sheffield has with Google (and Youtube), is it allowed for UoS and its students to use Youtube material for non-personal use, e.g. in classes and with course works?
Terms of Use, 5.1.L : "you agree not to access Content or any reason other than your personal, non-commercial use solely as intended through and permitted by the normal functionality of the Service, and solely for Streaming."

In my country the current copyright law and Youtube's terms of service has been interpreted so, that no school or University can use Youtube for educational purposes unless explicit permission.
